Great!
This book is really helpful! Unlike other books of its type, the information is clearly organized and well presented. The GPS maps are very useful, and driving directions are accurate and thorough. Also there are a number of great pictures.
I highly recommend this book not only for tourists but for locals as well. Looking forward to the upcoming New Mexico book by the same author!

The Power of Women and the Subversion of the Community
Published in Paperback by Falling Wall Pr (15 June, 1975)
Authors: Mariarosa Dallas, Selma James, and Mariarosa Dalla Costa
Average review score:

Feminism wasn't just N.O.W. and Betty Friedan
This book contains the work of two of the most astute writers on women, gender and power within the Marxist tradition. Unlike most works, this text engages with gender relations as they specifically take shape under capitalism, as shaped by the capital-labor relation.

Clear, easy to read, and engaging, this book takes a very different approach to sex and class from most other feminist works. This was the early theoretical expression of the section of the Women's Movement demanding Wages for Housework and it contains a biting critique not simply of sexual oppression, but of the capital-labor relation.

If you read no other work on sexual relations from a Marxist perspective, read this. then get Fortunati's book The Arcane of Reproduction, which develops these arguments in novel ways.

Religious Violence and Abortion: The Gideon Project
Published in Hardcover by University Press of Florida (April, 1993)
Authors: Dallas A. Blanchard and Terry J. Prewitt
Average review score:

an important work of scholarship
Dallas Blanchard is the premier scholar of the antiabortion movement. This book is a necesary corrective to false assumptions made by many about the characters who perpetrate antiabortion violence. Blanchard provides a thorough review of the scholarly literature and thus the foundation for serious and nonpartisan scholarship about this violent and revolutionary movement. Religious Violence and Abortion, is a logical companion to such wider works on the modern Christian Right as Eternal Hostility: The Struggle Between Theocracy and Democracy, by journalist Frederick Clarkson, Roads to Dominion, by sociologist Sara Diamond, as well as recent books by Jean Hardisty and Robert Boston.

Sound Choices: Using Music to Design the Environments in Which You Live, Work, and Heal
Published in Paperback by Hay House (November, 1999)
Authors: Susan Mazer and Dallas Smith
Average review score:

Sound decision
Mazer and Smith have written a book which will help each of us as professionals and "ordinary" individuals understand how to create a sound and healthy environment around ourselves, so that we can communicate better and function better in our family, workplace and community. The alternation of the personal insights and history with solid professional and experiental research is a pleasure to read and offers each reader something new to think about and something old (in their own life) to understand. The power of music to heal and noise to hurt are clearly delineated, and the author's analysis, suggestions and recommendations are laid out thoughtfully and helpfully. Having the CD available to illustrate some of their concepts helps integrate the experience of listening with the joy of reading this fine book. Whether teacher, medical professional, musician, architect, parent, business person, it will be a "sound decision" to buy, read, and use what you have learned from "Sound Choices".

A good book to curl up with....
Dallas Schulze brings the reader three romances in one book. You will enjoy this book of love and discovery.

OF DREAMS AND MAGIC...Jack Ryan has felt dissatisfied for sometime. From his career in the family bank to his engagement to a woman that would make the perfect banker's wife, Jack can not put aside his feeling of disquiet. When he meets Sheri, Jack feels something he has never felt before, but will not admit it, because his life is going along just how everyone expects. Sheri is someone that always wants to make people around her happy. When she meets Jack when he comes to the cabin where she had been caring for his uncle for the last three years of his life, Sheri can't describe the feelings she has for him. All she knows is that she's falling fast and hard.

THE MORNING AFTER...Lacey Newton woke up on the morning after her thirtieth birthday to find herself in bed with a man and a marriage certificate that she didn't remember signing. When Cameron suggests that they give their marriage a try, she figures she has nothing to lose. As the weeks go by, she realizes that she has more to lose than she thought and starts to make a hasty retreat. Cameron McCleary has wanted to have a family, but could never imagine a woman that he would want to spend the rest of his life with. When he's with Lacey, he feels a contentment that doesn't make sense to him, since she was a virtual stranger the day before they were married. When Lacey starts running scared, Cam will do anything to show her that they can make their marriage work.

A SUMMER TO COME HOME...Jake Quincannon has come home to Riverbend after a twenty year absence. He comes home to find closure to the first nineteen years of his life, but finds more than he expects to find. He has a hard time reconciling Paige Cudahy with his ex-girlfriend's plump little sister, but the proof is right in front of his eyes. A summer affair is all he has to offer, unless Paige can change his mind. Paige has always had a crush on Jake, and she finally has the chance to prove to him that he is worthy of having love, something that he hasn't had enough of in his life. It takes more than she thought though, especially when a secret comes to light that has stayed buried for twenty years.

Happy reading!

Tom Landry: An Autobiography
Published in Hardcover by Zondervan (September, 1990)
Authors: Tom Landry and Gregg Lewis
Average review score:

Revealing
Having been a lifelong Cowboys fan I saw this book and had to read it. The first thing I found upon reading it was that total honesty of Coach Landry and the guts it took to wither all the storms life can throw at one person. I found that, even though it deals worth football, there are lessons that are applicable to everyday life. This would be a great book for all school children to be assigned to read. It shows what can happen when one person puts faith and families and principles ahead of instant gradification.

Tune in tomorrow; or, How I found the right to happiness with Our gal Sunday, Stella Dallas, John's other wife, and other sudsy radio serials
Published in Unknown Binding by ()
Author: Mary Jane Higby
Average review score:

Unexpected hilarity
I have an old paperback of this book, first published in the '70s (?). In addition to being an informative look at radio broadcasting during the golden age, focusing especially on the soaps but also on such dramatic anthologies as Mr First Nighter, it is also quite hilarious. Ms. Higby's inside knowledge as a radio actress includes many uproarious anecdotes. Written in a light, breezy style, it is sure to entertain even those with little interest in old-time radio. Very enjoyable.

The Way Home
Published in Paperback by Dell Pub Co (January, 1995)
Author: Dallas Schulze
Average review score:

Definitely one of the author's best!
Both heartwarming and heartwrenching, this is one of Dallas Schulzes' best books (Together Always is just as good!).I've read this several times and I still cry at all the same places. Meg and Tyler are among my favorite couples (imaginary though they are). The only thing I disliked about it was that Jack and Patsy were still unresolved and unhappy at the end of the book. Their situation was explained in too much detail for me to be satisfied with such a static ending.(Hint to Dallas Schulze: Write a book about Jack in which he gets on with his life) I found this book in a used book store a while back and I recommend that fans of the author make an effort to find a copy of it. (I also recommend Together Always.)
